Arias: "The players are united and want to do everything for the club"

The Valencia CF ambassadors met with the club captains this week

This Wednesday, Valencia CF captains José Luis Gayà, Jaume Domènech, Carlos Soler and Gabriel Paulista met with club ambassadors Ricardo Arias, Miguel Ángel Bossio and Miguel Tendillo.

After the talk between the generations of Valencia CF representatives, Arias spoke to VCF Media about the topics of conversation and the mood within the camp.

“It has been a meeting that is useful for strengthening our spirits and pulling together in the situation we find ourselves in. We have told the players that we are here to help them in whatever way we can, that this situation must be turned around, that we must react and that we have to win games as soon as possible. Calmness and joy will come with this,” he said.

Arias stressed that the players "have to be able to put up with the suffering and handle this situation with the utmost professionalism."

"We came out of the meeting very happy, because we saw that they are going to do everything possible -and more- to get Valencia CF out of this situation," he emphasised.

In addition, the Valencia CF ambassador said that the captains are clear about the path they have to follow:

“The attitude of the majority has been very clear to us. They told us that they know perfectly well how to address this situation. Hearing this from the team captains reassures you. Seeing that they are so clear about things and that they are going to do whatever is needed -putting it above personal interests- exemplifies what Valencianistas want to have in the team.”

“Their only intention is to give everything for the club. The attitude they try to bring to the dressing room is something for which we should be thankful. Some things will work out and others will not, but the attitude is the right one and they have great respect for the entity they are representing. That makes it evident in the dressing room that the club is above all else.”

Finally, Arias looked ahead to Saturday's game against Celta Vigo and asked for consistent performances until the end of the season.

“On Saturday we cannot fail. If you don't take risks, you don't win. The situation in which they find themselves in is that the final stretch of the season begins this Saturday. That is how they are treating it. The only thing we can do is support them so that they face the game as they should. We have to let them see that we are by their side, and that if they fail they should try again. The most important thing is to be professional and honest. If you act like that, the rest has to come through.”
